Welcome from our Foundation President, Dr. Gordon Harrison

Welcome to the Georgia Gwinnett College Foundation Web site. On this site, you will have the opportunity to meet the Foundation staff and Trustees, learn more about the Foundation’s mission and goals, and see the latest information on the Foundation’s many projects. Thank you for visiting, and we hope you will return often.
Since its inception, the Georgia Gwinnett College Foundation has been raising funds to support the goals of GGC, a truly extraordinary amount for such a young college. Our financial support comes from many areas of the community – from the visionary leaders who worked to establish a 4-year college in Gwinnett to the GGC faculty, staff and students who believe in revolutionizing higher education.
It has been a remarkable time of growth since our first 120 students enrolled in 2006. As a matter of fact, enrollment will swell to over 5,000 students this fall. The faculty and staff, too, have grown, from three employees in January 2006 to over 450 today. As you drive by the Lawrenceville campus, you will notice construction cranes and new buildings on the horizon as GGC continues to expand. Over $160 million in capital construction, including $130 million of Foundation funded projects, will open to students this fall. This new construction will provide student housing and a student center with a bookstore and dining facilities. The numbers on every front are simply astounding. What a success story – thanks to you, the leaders around us!
A growing institution like Georgia Gwinnett College has numerous needs, many of which can only be accomplished through the work of the GGC Foundation. We are steadily working to implement aggressive fundraising efforts to support important elements of the college. And our faculty, staff and students are right at the front of those efforts. In 2009, 82% of employees participated in the Foundation’s annual campaign, and almost 100% of graduating seniors have participated in the senior campaign.
I wish to extend my warmest appreciation to all of our donors and supporters, and to the Board of Trustees, for their continued efforts. With your help, Georgia Gwinnett College is truly transforming the landscape of this community and of the modern American education landscape. It is an honor and an inspiration to be a part of it. We look forward to another outstanding year at the GGC Foundation.
Kindest regards,
Gordon Harrison, Ph.D.
