What made you choose GGC?

When I was exploring colleges, many were either too far away, too expensive, or didn't offer the program I wanted. After researching online, my mom and I visited GGC to learn more. The staff in Building D were incredibly helpful and walked us through the application process. We were so impressed that we skipped the rest of our college visits and applied that same day. I started classes a week later. GGC checked all the boxes for location, affordability, and academic programs.

What do you like most about GGC?

GGC offers the best of both worlds: a large, diverse community and a small, personal feel. Students come from many different backgrounds and experiences, making it easy to feel included and learn from others. Small class sizes help build strong relationships with professors and classmates, creating a supportive environment with plenty of opportunities for research, projects, and student involvement.

Can you name some experiences that have especially stood out to you?

Some of my most memorable experiences have involved representing GGC while engaging with the campus community, including Homecoming, the Four-Pillars Scholarship Gala, and the 2025 USG Gala. Meeting students, alumni, and donors at these events has been inspiring and has shown me the impact of giving back. I also enjoyed participating in research projects and traveling to present our work.

What would you like to do after you graduate?

I plan to attend medical school and become a physician. Medicine combines service, discovery, and compassion in a way that aligns with my values. In the future, I hope to mentor students, support future healthcare professionals, and help expand access to education and healthcare.

How have you and other students benefited from donor support?

Donor support has had a direct impact on my education. As an out-of-state student, tuition became increasingly difficult to manage until I received an out-of-state tuition waiver in Fall 2025. I've also heard many stories of students who overcame financial challenges thanks to scholarships and emergency assistance. Donations help students stay enrolled and continue pursuing their goals when unexpected obstacles arise.

Why do you think people should consider donating to GGC?

As an access institution, GGC provides opportunities to talented and hardworking students who may need additional support to succeed. Donations help students, strengthen academic programs, expand opportunities, and contribute to the college's long-term growth. Their impact extends well beyond current students to future generations.

What would you like to say to the people who donate to GGC?

Thank you. While donors may not always see the results of their generosity, students experience that impact every day. Your support helps students remain in school, achieve their career goals, and create better futures for themselves and their communities. GGC has helped me pursue my dream of becoming a physician, and your generosity helps keep that dream and many others alive.
